Virtual Hound Show 2009

The Rules:

There will be one Best of Breed class available for each breed. Dogs entered may be living or deceased. Send one photo per dog that you would like to enter. One entry per dog, please. You may crop the photo to the dog only, or we will do that for you. If you do not have a scanner, simply mail the photo to us with the entry form enclosed. We will scan and return the photo to you. We do not take responsibility for the loss of any photos submitted.

When the photo and entry are received, a number will be assigned to each dog and that number will appear on our website with the dog’s photo. No identifying information, other than breed and sex and entry number will be posted on the website.

Entries may be made beginning May 1 and are open through July 1, 2009. Photos will be posted on the website once or twice a week, as time allows.

Judging will be completed on July 5,2009 by Dr. Jim Sillers, Veterinarian and AKC Hound Judge. The judge’s decision will be based on the photo available and is not open to debate. A critique of each Best of Breed winner may be made available, if Dr. Sillers chooses to do so.

If the show proves to be popular, we will add more classes for the next show.

One Best of Breed (Variety) and one Best of Opposite Sex will be chosen for each breed or variety. Winners will be identified on the website with the owner’s information, name of dog, etc. listed.

Group placements of 1, 2, 3, and 4 will be awarded. The Group 1 winner will be considered the BIS winner and will receive a $50 Sight & Scent Gift Certificate good toward an ad or a subscription. Group 2 will receive a $25 Gift Certificate, Group 3 a $15 Gift Certificate, and Group 4 a $10 Gift Certificate.

Photos of the four group winners will appear in the August issue of Sight & Scent.
